Walking the dogs on the beach

Some of our rentals are dog friendly. Dogs are accepted only subject to both owner and rental agent approval based on age, breed and other information on a case by case basis. Proof of age and necessary vaccinations may be required. We strongly suggest that pets visiting the island be vaccinated for Lyme disease.

Pet rent is $100. per week and there is an additional pet security deposit of $300. There is a pet lease to be signed by tenant, owner and rental agent.

Town of Wells ordinances permit dogs on the beach only before 8 AM and after 6 PM from June 15 through September 15. Dogs must be leashed. Doggie clean-up bags are usually available in a dispenser at beach entrances but dispensers empty rapidly, so it is best to bring your own supply. Dog owners must clean up after his or her dog(s). Dogs are NOT permitted to “potty” on the grounds of any rental property. They must be curbed or walked at the beach.
